This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
So the website is up (there's a link down below), and the comics are flowing as usual. I've recently been subsumed into The Herd, as it's called; comics will be at yourmometer.com, ponies will be here. I'm hoping to do one vector of each of the primary characters, and then start playing around with some artistic license-y type stuff. I've never done vector art before, so any tips and tricks you know would be super helpful. I'm using Photoshop, because Illustrator is just one more piece of tech I don't have time to learn...
I'm primarily a webcomic artist - I do get paid a pittance per strip by one of the student newspapers to run them every day, so I suppose I'm technically a professional, but it is in no way my means of subsistence. Most of what I post here is what I do for fun, though I do occasionally try to keep some particularly good strips in my archives.
I like to experiment with a bunch of different art areas and types, though unfortunately most of it falls in the category of fan art. Sometimes I'll put up a little piece of experimental art using my own characters, though.
I just wanted to thank you for faving this~ [link] It helps spread the love! I'm glad you liked it, and I hope it has a positive impact on your and your friends' lives!
It's the first sex-positive response to fandom sexuality that I've ever seen. Usually when these come up, it's very negative and chastising to people who choose to explore those sides of characters, but I think yours is the love-and-tolerate response that the show should inspire. Thank you very much for making it.
Absolutely. Inspire is just the right word. Interesting characters can spark certain many ideas in fans.
Sadly, many people try to stifle these explorations, and it can really split the fans apart. People get so passionate about who they feel should go together, and who they feel should not. And then there are those who prefer a chaste version of the characters, like you said. These are all perfectly fine views, as long as you know to respect someone's boundaries, since no one wants any view to be shoved in their face. I promise you that without characters I looked up to, to play with in my mind, I would be nowhere near I am today.
I think that the shippers, even the cloppers, should be given full rights to explore all possibilities. If it means giving a tool to help someone come to terms with their true personality, the so be it! Now, I'm glad to say that there is a community for almost every type of fandom, and these explorations don't have to be done alone. There is nothing more wonderful than discovering yourself. And it's something that should be celebrated, not feared.
